She is now a few days old, but has high biliruben buildup, which means she will probably have jaundice, but she is very healthy, starting to eat well, and looking very good, if I do say so myself. anyway here are a few pics of her days (all afterbirth of course).

Annie's Drawing

Well, Annie drew this today and we wanted you all to see it. It is a Grandma and she got her idea from the grandmas on spirited away. I really like the ribbon around the bun.

From the Blog...

Hey Olsens, are you out there? Do you still read me? I know I read you. I miss you... I miss having someone edit my HTML. I miss having my parameters adjusted and my webhosting updated. I miss having my JPEGs uploaded and my server platforms coordinated. I miss my javascript updates and embedded code. Most of all, I miss you, Olsens. The warm touch of your fingerpads to my cold keyboard. The irreplaceable interaction between man and machine. The most sophisticated software, harware, or netware is nothing without a loving family to utilize its gigabytes.

So sad.

So, Olsens, let's do an exercise in blogging to get things back on track. Everybody MUST post one post of gratitude sometime this week. Or else. James needs to post. Does he have gmail? I hope to have you all posting on my barren walls once more; it would make me so happy.

xoxo

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Hey Bloggers,
It's been awhile, but i am back in cyberspace. It's unfortunate that this blog has really lamed out. Let's take our own advice and get it going again. All the popular people keep current on their blogs. Anyway, I would like to present a brief photo montage of my recent doings. (1. Camping with the fam at Zion; 2. Camping with the cousins; 3. The result of a terrible night of mosquitoes in BC; 4. Family camping trip to Tetons; 5. Hindu temple trip with some friends; 6.Conference weekend; 7. I'm not sick, just breakfast in bed at the hotel in San Diego; 8. Disneyland!!; 9. Zion with friends; 10. 4th of July: Island Park; 11. Annie and Kath helped me move)

Also, I have noticed recently that the economical status of our nation (and the rest of the world, actually) is a bit unstable. And then I came across this scripture in Ether that explained it all: "And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be aswept off when the fulness of his bwrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are cripened in iniquity."
But, Olsens, take it from me. As a natural pessimist who is trying to become an optimist, I think it's going to be OK. I think we will survive. I like Pres. Uchtdorf's words:
"Hope sustains us through despair. Hope teaches that there is reason to rejoice even when all seems dark around us."

Here are our pics.. now get posting.

We went to the Big Lick triathlon again. Unfortunately I didn't do as well as last year, but I didn't train nearly as much. Of course, my two biggest fans came out to support me. How wonderful. I guess that was the best part. A local photographer was very interested in Sadie and her "go dad" onesie. no surprise. Pretty fun for the last weekend of summer!

Thanks, Cade.

Cade, we needed to hear that. Honestly, Olsens. It took a Buck to remind us of what Olsens truly stand. Unity! Where is the unity? Where are the posts? the updates? the good times? the pics? C'mon, Olsens. Olsens one and Olsens all, right? I feel like Cade is a modern day captain Moroni, and this is the Title of Blog-erty. Let's rally. I hereby decree that each olsen particulate and entity rededicate, recommit, and post. Today being the first day of Fall (the autumnal equinox or something), I propose, request, and DEMAND that each Olsen post at least one pic of summer fun. That includes Mom and/or Dad, Jeannette, Ricks, us, Greg/Andrea/Fetus, mer, Bucks, kell, danny and Kurt. One summer memory in .jpeg digital format. Olsens... Unite!

well here you have it...

Well, Jarom's away, so I've spent a bit of time posting on this here blog. Please don't calculate the time it takes to post every five pictures....enjoy!

Missouri and beyond

We drove to Missouri 4 days after we got home from our camping trip. We did the 16 hour drive with only two stops for gas. The girls did very well and enjoyed watching the first half of pride and prejudice (well, lizzy actually did not enjoy that).

At grandma and grandpa Brent's house, the girls had a great time. Grandma and Grandpa both would sit and read to the girls, and that is the way to my children's hearts.

Jarom helped with odd jobs such as fixing the shed door and rigging up the flag.

We went to the visitors center at Independence.

We went to Adam-Ondi-Ahmen

We got to go to Kansas and visit Aunt Susie, Uncle Rick, Jenna, Stacy, and Audry.
BBQ'd hamburgers etc. was great!

We drove up to Omaha and went to the Winter Quarters Visitor Center
It was raining, so we didn't go to the cemetary.
The girls did not want to change out of their pioneer costumes!
We spent the night at the base there, it was very, very nice!

Then we drove to the badlands and went on a few hikes.

This looks like steps at first, but it turns into a ladder going straight up!
That hike was a bit too intense, I don't know if I recommend it for babies.

Then we drove to Mount rushmore and stayed at a hotel in Custer, SD.
The girls now know who is on the mountain.

I set the camera on a rock wall.

We went on a tour of the wind caves...very, very neat.

Got stuck in a buffalo jam. (or Bison, as we have taught the girls)

Jarom and I had buffalo steak, and the girls had buffalo burger and hot dog.
Soooooo Gooooooood!!!!

Some random shop on main street in Custer. Annie is pretending to sleep.

You might recognize Independence rock from Oregon Trail.
On our drive home we drove along the platte and sweet water rivers on the pioneer trails.
The girls climbed to the top of independence rock with Jarom.

Just a mile down the highway from independence rock is devil's gate and Martin's Cove.
(where the Martin and Willy handcart companies hunkered down in the winter while waiting to be rescued.) It was a wonderful visitor center and Lizzy loved the sister missionary (she was older) who took us through.

Well, thats the end of that trip!!
