The Scoop:

Well, I hate to be the gossip-monger around here, but if you haven't already heard, things just didn't take between Jeannette and Seth. They will be doing a traditional exchange of borrowed/left goods, so I suppose in a moment of weakness all this could change, but the sad truth is, most likely it is good-bye Seth and hello visits from Jeannette, the sister/aunt of the week!

Anyway, so I broke the news to the girls this morning and asked if we should call Aunt Jeannette, of course they said yes! I told them that Jeannette wouldn't be with Seth anymore because he didn't quite love her enough, and since they won't be getting married, they won't be together anymore...honest, thats all I said!
So Katherine calls Jeannette: "Aunt Jeannette I like Seth, but I don't like him anymore because I love you." (I guess it might have been "Aund Dannedde, I lige Zeth, bud I don'd lige 'im anymore begause I love you."

Of course this has been very hard on Jeannette and she's been a real trooper, so on that note, lets all give a shout out in the comments for Jeannette and remind her who is there for her, through thick and thin and rain and snow and ice....;)

Where is she now?

For anyone who was wondering what Sadie Jean has been up to lately, this should answer your curiosities...

and yes, those are real prisoners in Cebu prison in the Philippines forced to dance Thriller to create a sense of unity and overcome gang divisions. Cool and unusual punishment. haha.

My kind of prison

I don't know how many of you guys have seen this before, but it is way awesome. I know that if came down to it, Dad would probably rather face the death penalty than serve this type of sentance. Check it out! (it really picks up after about 1 minute)

Another Grand Child

Cade bought us a wii. We let mom and dad meet it. They had a great time bowling. Dad especially liked it because he figured out he could play sitting down. There were lots of good times but also many struggles as we tried to teach the intelligence of the WII to a different generation. ps, its funny that in one of james's emails he said he didnt even know what a wii was. my oh my how have times changed.

Cade and I rented the movie Breach. Cade pointed something out to me and quite frankly I had to agree. What do you think?

April showers bring busy schedules...

Hey everybody...
I have been pleased as punch with the content and frequency of the recent posts. I hope that everyone is taking advantage of this opportunity to stay involved with Olsens/Ricks/Bucks who you don't see as often as you like. I think it's great.
Sadie has a new trick: she screams whenever we put her down. She screams when we go out and about. Well, it really isn't that bad, but sometimes it seems like it. That girl sure loves her parents. luckily she is still sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night.
As the subject indicates, we have been busy lately. We went up to DC and Mount Vernon conference weekend. (We went to the secret tunnels of Benjamin Gates below the estate near the potomac. I think Ashley even solved a mysterious national conspiracy.) We saw our friends Van and Paul who live downtown, and then saw BJ, Nancy, and fam and Mark and Ginger on conference sunday.
Then, of course, my birthday. I received so many calls, one from each household. I was honored. Thanks olsens. You set a good example of birthday remembrance. Anyway, we went bowling with friends (whose birthday is also April 9). We used our usual lane monikers of Mr and Mrs Pin. Ashley and I both got our share of strikes, so it was successful. Thanks for reading this whole thing....now on to the pics!

mother how could you?

Henry and a Flag

Well, thats how you could describe my day...Henry and Flag. Today while Rachel had a dentist appointment we got to watch Henry. He ate, pooped, burped and slept, just like a real baby does. He even smiles and coos a little. I swear I walked into the room and Lizzy was talking to him and I heard her ask him what heaven was like because she was starting to forget...oh wait, wrong story...she was just babbling and he cooed back to her. It was way cute . And of course Annie and Katherine just couldn't get enough of him. They wanted to pretend that he was their little brother. Someday maybe they'll have one of their own but not for at least nine months, in case there were any rumors...KRISTI! So after we babysat Henry and made some dinner we went to watch Jarom bring down the flag on BYU Campus. Mary Ann came with us and she helped Annie push the button to play the recording of the National Anthem, which was only fitting because she was in the band when they recorded it! Anyway, it was great to see Jarom in uniform looking very military-ish. He had also put the flag up, but I didn't go to see that at 7:20 this morning...just too early for me!

Lizzy being cute

Poor Henry!
A few weeks ago

Jarom's the one with blond hair!

Easter (finally)

Easter was wonderful for us! We had a great time in Brigham City with all the Grandmas, Grandpas, aunts, Uncles and cousin! The food was, of course, delicious!

The kids, and Jarom, Loved their Easter Baskets!

Jarom got a new ball mitt!

Lizzy enjoyed her peep for a while, but then she left it on her tray in a puddle of spilled water!

Poor creature!Egg dying was a major success!
The girls were very proud of their eggs and they got very good a dying them!

Lizzy did drink some of the dye, but luckily it is made from food-grade material, although I don't think she really liked the vinegar.

Sunday after church we took some pictures of the girls. None of their dresses were new this year, but they still looked very cute in them.
Brandon got home from church and came over to be in a picture with them too! (isn't he handsome?)

Well, that was our easter! (actually, its been so long now that I've forgotten the details! At least I have pictures to remind me!

Odds and Ends

On March 16th Grandma and Grandpa Ricks took the girls to Disney on Ice "Princess Wishes" They got all dressed up and had a great time!!!!! Even Lizzy!
