Looking back, moving forward.
Olsens fall in.
Well, here we are. June 1st. We are precisely 5/12ths through the year, and this seems like an appropriate fraction for us to take pause and look at what has happened in 2008. But wait... let's see what happened even earlier. Come with me on a walk down memory lane...
The year was 2007. They were crazy times. As you know, our family blog was introduced towards the end of that year. The seasons have come and gone. What once was early winter is now early summer. This blog has seen bridal showers, princess parties, Christmas beards, baby showers, R/C cars, video clips, Christmas lists, family parties, weddings, events, jokes, and much more than can ever be written in binary code.
So what? what if all those things never happened? Big deal. This blog (and our growing family) could survive without any of those events. So? So what makes it so special?
Communication! Yes, of course, good, old fashioned communication! In this fast-paced world of gigabytes and hard drives, USB ports and ethernets, the primitive concept of communication links us, even thousands of miles apart. That is what this blog means. A family knit together by sharing their experiences on a theoretical cyber network, a metaphysical location that exists only in digital form.
So I dare you, Olsens, to take a trip down memory lane. See what events have blogged us together. See what previous posts have held our hearts captive. Remember the posts that made us cry, laugh, and love.
As we look to the past, we can't help but dream of the future. Who knows what will come to pass for our journal in cyberspace. Will Jeannette and Mary Ann come back to post more for us or will they be lost forever to Facebook? Will Kelli be too cool for school as she moves outward and onward, or can she turn to this hallowed page and give us updates? Will Danny and Kurt keep up the frequent and thoughtful public musings? Will Cade and Kristi remember us now that they are in the big city? Will James someday join our ranks? Can greg and andrea post ultrasounds, first photos, and maybe eventually first words of their BOJ (bundle of joy)? And I have a feeling that we haven't heard the last from the Ricks family. Mark my words (pun intended).
In this blog, we are united. For indeed....
we are....
Olsens.

Better late than never, right?!
Look familiar?
p.s. Andrea's first appointment is tomorrow. We'll put posts of the baby (or babies) if we can, but we're very excited.

Cryptobiotic - Yeah!!!

We found this unknown arch on a hike. Yeah for sand (better than hawaii sand)

Accidentally sat on a cactus .............................and stepped in cryptobiotic in the process.

This is a cool landscape arch
Hi everyone in the blogging world. Kristi and I went on a little jaunt down to Arches Nat'l Park (Kristi was always asking what Nat'l meant) over the second half of finals week and graduation. It was a lot funner, I'm sure. As for right now, we are homeless. We moved out of our apt in Logan on Friday, and move into the one in Provo on Monday. It should be fun, because we'll have free BYU tv, and no jobs. Well we're out.
